La-Z-Boy, Bradington and Young and Flexsteel will astound you. Recliners, rockers, sofas, love
seats, swivel-gliders and a combination there of are among the choices
you have. Grades of real leather and micro fibers, colors and
textures complete the possibilities. If you want leather, you want to

About Leather Leather comes in different styles
designed to meet your needs for long life and
durability, style and price. Being a natural
material, each piece of leather has it's own
characteristics from color variations to natural scars
related to what part of the world the leather came from
and how the ranchers fenced the animals.
Flexsteel has an informative pdf file on
leather with information on styles of leather, care
and cleaning, the language of leather and how their
furniture is constructed. Well worth reading!
Reclining
Sofas In the Latitudes Collection,
manufactured by Flexsteel,
this reclining sofa and matching reclining loveseat are
covered by a micro-fiber and are available in leather
too. The set may be purchased
as a sectional and as a dual gliding love seat with
console. A sectional wraps around. Dual
gliders mean each seat glides independently. The
console is a pull down table with cup holders.
This set is a great example of how you can
purchase a matching sofa and love seat. Not shown but
easily available is a matching recliner or gliding
recliner. Allow eight weeks for delivery on
orders. Shown in a leather like micro-fiber.
Wall Aways
From La-Z-Boy, as a
Select Fabric and Leather Mate set, a C grade,
each is available in six fabrics and two leathers for a
special price. Styles include a reclining sofa, a
reclining love seat or a rocking recliner.
Each piece has the option of being covered in any of the
hundreds of fabric choices in the La-Z-Boy Design Center
at Dow Furniture in Waldoboro. Selecting a
different grade may change the special pricing in the
Select Fabric and Leather Mate set.
This set is a great example of a
wall away. The benefit of a wall away is that as
the piece reclines, it glides forward instead of
reclining backward toward the wall.
This means
your furniture can be closer to the wall saving space in
the middle of the room. Please ask about other
options!
Note: Rocking recliners are not wall aways. Plan
for a little room behind to rock.
Flexsteel
From Flexsteel, the Dylan Group is
another line in the Latitudes Collection. A wide
selection of styles are available including both
stationary and reclining pieces. Sizes include a
sofa, love seat, sectional, chair and armless
chair.
Another big benefit of the Dylan Group is faster
delivery. Flexsteel warehouses for four leather
colors in each size and style.
Flexsteel itself started in 1893 in Minneapolis as the
Ralph and Ball Furniture company manufacturing furniture
for people moving west. Over the years, the
company merged and morphed to survive depressions and
wars, incorporating the Sanitas Spring into the designs.
The company expanded and grew to include new engineering
designs, materials and fabrics. New products
included sofa-sleepers and furnishings for motor homes.
The company grew into international markets and of
course the internet. Product lines expanded beyond
seating. However, quality, comfort and engineering
always remained high and Flexsteel continues to be an
industry leader and innovator.
Micro-fibers
Available in leather and micro-fibers and in the
Latitudes Collection from Flexsteel, this set of reclining sofa,
reclining love seat and reclining or gliding recliner is
fabulously comfortable!
What is micro-fiber? Micro-fiber is usually a high
quality, modern polyester based material available in
many colors, thicknesses and textures.
The big benefit to a micro-fiber, in addition to the
style choices, is water is repelled by it. You
clean micro-fiber furniture with soap and water!
And pet hair won't penetrate it!
La-Z-Boy is the biggest
name in leather recliners, sectionals and love seats.
Dow Furniture has many, many pieces on their showroom
floor, most of which are available in leather. So,
if you see a piece you like, ask because it may come in
leather too!

Push Back Recliners
If you're looking for a recliner with a more formal
look, consider a leather push back recliner. They
resemble a stationary chair more than a recliner with
the added benefit of being able
to get more comfortable.
Push backs have three positions to enjoy. The
first is a standard chair position with the foot rest
down and the back up. The other two are either the
back pushed back, foot rest up or a combination of the
two.
These recliners do not have a button or handle which
makes them seem more like a regular chair from their
appearance. While we're talking about leather,
you can order a push back recliner you see in leather
from on of the hundreds of fabric or micro-fiber
choices. Dow Furniture also carries
wing back push back recliners if you prefer a Queen
Anne or Chippendale style.
Leather Care Leather care is easy! Simply dust
or vacuum with a brush attachment once a week is all it
takes.
Being a natural fiber, leather will react to sunlight
and heat. When designing with leather, locate be sure to
locate your leather pieces away from direct sunlight and
away from heat sources. The leather will fade or
discolor otherwise.
Natural ware marks and wrinkles will appear on your
leather. This is not considered damage, but a look of
well worn value.
